BOOK CORNER:
One of the best ways for you to improve your listening
comprehension and pronunciation in Norwegian is by listening to
AUDIO BOOKS. The tapes will help you get accustomed to hearing
and eventually understanding Norwegian spoken at a normal tempo,
and with time, the sounds and intonation you absorb as you listen
will begin to appear in your own speech. And if you are also
reading the text as you listen to the tape, it helps you with
reading comprehension and with understanding the relationship
between the Norwegian sounds and their written representation.
However, the best reason for getting an audio book is that it is
fun. Textbooks and textbook tapes are good and necessary, but
what they often lack is any type of story. And while audio books
are not inexpensive, I think they are one of the best
investments you can make for improving and enjoying your
Norwegian. In my experience, second language learners both enjoy
and benefit from reading and listening to audio books over and
over again.

below, but am recommending them on the basis of their catalog
descriptions. In most cases, it is also possible to order the
printed book that corresponds to the audio book. If you have
