Jon Fosse: He has in the later years become a major playwright on the international scene, being likened to Ibsen. His plays have had success all over the world. Some of his plays are translated into English: Plays One: "Someone Is Going to Come", "The Name", "The Guitar Man", "The Child"; Plays Two: "A Summer's Day", "Dream of Autumn", "Winter"; The Girl on the Sofa; and Nightsongs.
Linn Ullmann: She is the daughter of actress Liv Ullman and filmmaker Ingmar Bergman. Married to an author, she has become a successful author in her own right through her novels Stella Descending; Before You Sleep and Grace.
Åsne Seierstad is a journalist, who has written a book that became very successful, but also very controversial because of the way this Kabul bookseller and his family are portrayed; The Bookseller of Kabul. A Hundred and One Days: A Reporter's Journey is her account of her days following the Iraqi War from Baghdad, being one of the few journalists still there when the Allies entered the town.
Eirik Fosnes Hansen: Psalm at Journey's End, Tales of Protection (novels).

Nils (Johan) Ringdal: Love for Sale: A Global History of Prostitution. In spite of what the TLS says, Ringdal is not a journalist - he is a well-known professor of history at the University of Oslo, and the author of a number of books. He is also well known as an outspoken practising homosexual, and he has also written a rather personal book about this. The many facets of sex is a subject that is of particular interest to Ringdal, and this book is one result of this.
